Last weekend I ate too much , on Saturday in particular a T-Bone Steak ” Alla Fiorentina” very good and tender, but its abundant Kilogram of weight wanted more of a good red wine. The first wine chosen was not that bad, but with all that Meat that we needed was a Masi Amarone Costasera.
Amarone della Valpolicella Classico DOC Masi Costasera exactly , that helped me to finish eating all that meat.
In fact, a structured wine as the Amarone helps in the difficult task of swallowing all that good things , thanks God.
But of Amarone there are many , each with its own nuance. That of which I speak , Costasera Masi Amarone , despite being top of the range I think is a good compromise between price and quality.
Take for example one of the latest vintage available , the 2006 and see what it looks like .
Uncork a couple of hours before serving , to oxygenate the wine well .
Intense, very intense, plum and stewed fruit smell accompanied by a deep red color almost purple . Swirling the glass you see the orange bows .
Strong character, with 14.5% of alcoholic content Amarone Masi Costasera is there , but once tasted is amazing for softness. Fruity taste , long aftertaste with hints of coffee.
Overall balanced , round, it is a wine that pairs well with everything without destroying the flavor .
Red meat and game , mature cheeses and why not alone as meditation. I recommend a large glass and 20 degrees of serving temperature.
